Big Bass Splash

Big Bass Splash is one of those games I fired up expecting to play for five minutes and ended up on for an hour. The core loop is casting your line, waiting for a bite, and reeling in fish of different sizes. It sounds simple, and it is, but the timing on the reel-in has just enough tension to keep you leaning in.

Controls are all touch based and very forgiving. You swipe to cast, then tap and hold at the right moments to keep the fish on the hook without snapping the line. The animation when a big one surfaces and splashes is genuinely fun to watch, and the sound design does a lot of work here. It runs completely offline, which is exactly why we tested it on a long train ride.

There's a light progression layer where you unlock new spots and better gear the more you play. It never feels grindy. This is a game for winding down, not for stressing out, and it does that job better than most.
